July 2024 - ACME Renewal Information (ARI) Version Update

Google Trust Services has implemented support for v04 of the ACME Renewal Information (ARI)
specification. As a result, we will be turning down support for the previously available v01
implementation.

What does this mean for you?

If you are using v01 of the ARI specification, you will need to update your ACME client to support
v04. Failure to do so will result in ARI requests failing, and potentially your certificates not
being renewed. The main change from v01 is how the ARI certificate ID is constructed.

When will this change take place?

We will be turning down support for v01 of the ARI specification on July 31, 2024.

How can you prepare for this change?

We recommend that you update your ACME client to support v04 as soon as possible.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Sincerely,
The Google Trust Services Team
